pink pullover & patched denim

Free People Jeans (similar here and love these, shop more below);
Urban Outfitters Fedora (similar here);

This pullover is the perfect pullover for the weekend: cozy, cozy, cozy.  I bought these Free People patched jeans last year, but patched jeans (or patched denim anything) is still a big trend.  I've tagged a couple above and you can shop more of my favourites below!

#OOTD / blushing

#OOTD / blushing

Happy Friday!  It's been a lazy week this week with my hubby being away and the on and off rainy weather we've been getting.  So what better way to end the week with a head-to-toe pink outfit.  This #OOTD combines two things I love most when it comes to fashion: pink and monochrome.  I am obsessing over these Milly Trapunto Trousers!  (I also love these pink pants from ASOS and these Joe's Flawless Icon Ankle Skinny Jeans.)  This Topshop Oversize Turtleneck Sweater would go perfectly with these pants.  It looks SO cozy.  A cream turtleneck sweater would be my next choice.  Camel also looks great with pink.  J.Crew is currently having a great sale on sweaters.  I love this camel and pink cashmere turtleneck.  I also love this camel wool turtleneck sweater.  It also comes in burgundy and I love burgundy paired with pink.  Because I'm petite, I would most likely pair these wide-leg pants with heels, but my ideal shoe to continue the ease of this outfit would be to pair them with a pair of pink flats and, of course, adding a pink bag.

#OOTD / moto jacket

#OOTD / moto jacket

Happy Friday!  Continuing my love (again after many years) for purple, I am obsessing over this BlankNYC Morning Suede Moto Jacket.  (It comes in other colours!)  I'd be all over it, except I'm not sure we're going to get many more cool days in the South to warrant the purchase of any kind of jacket.  I've been wearing sweaters the past couple of days and have been dying because it gets hot in the afternoon.  If I were to buy this jacket, I'd pair it with a pair of patched jeans like these amazing Madewell x B Sides Reworked Slim Boyjeans and my Vans, which are my go-to sneakers.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

palm tree life / day in paradise

One Teaspoon Junkyard Skirt (also here for 50% off!);
Brixton Dalila Hat (colour I'm wearing sold out);

We have been seriously spoiled with the weather lately.  In November, I was wearing a coat (for only a few days, but still).  Then it warmed up.  Just a couple of weekends ago I was miserable because it was SO cold (again, only for a few days, but still).  And even though in a blog post earlier this year when I was recommending my favourite faux fur/shag coats I said I would not invest in any more coats since we only get about 2 weeks of winter, I ended up ordering a couple because it was that cold.  But then it went up to the 70s two days later so I returned them.  (Also because neither worked for me.)  This is definitely not me asking you to feel sorry for me ha.  But I've been back and forth between deciding if I should order some (spring-ish) sweaters (it is supposed to cool down again), or go straight to summer clothes (especially because summer clothes from last year are up to 70-80% off!)  But it's not quite that warm, so instead I found a balance with this Show Me Your Mumu Bonfire Sweater.  The long sleeves keep you warm when it's breezy, but it's light enough for when the temp goes up.  I normally stay away from polyester but this sweater is quite soft.  Bonus, it's 'basically wrinkle-proof'!  Of course, I mainly fell in love with this sweater because I'm a sucker for palm trees and will miss them almost as much as the beach when we move to Greenville.  At least I'll have this sweater.

#OOTD / that's a wrap

#OOTD / that's a wrap

Happy Saturday!  I'm a day late posting my #OOTD.  It's been in the 70s here the past few days so we've been enjoying the beautiful weather.  It's cooled down a bit today so it's all about a cozy sweater.  I've been eyeing this Topshop Twist Wrap Front Jumper.  I've said it probably a million times, but I love a monochrome outfit so I'd pair this grey sweater with grey jeans.  I have a similar pair to these FRAME Le Skinny de Jeanne Jeans and they're amazing!  I would complete the outfit with these silver leather Steve Madden Kandi Mules.

embroidered denim

{ZARA Mid Rise Embroidered Skinny Jeans (also love these blue jeans, now on sale!)
Nasty Gal Sweater (similar here, love this red sweater, this one looks SO cozy);
MICHAEL Michael Kors Bootie (similar here);
Urban Outfitters Fedora (similar here);
Prada Sunglasses}

I'm loving anything and everything embroidered, especially denim.  Embroidery takes a pair of same ol' skinny jeans, denim skirt, or denim jacket to a whole new level.  I was eyeing these One Teaspoon Birds of Paradise Scallywags Jeans, but ended up going with these ZARA Embroidered Skinny Jeans because they're quite similar and were hard to resist for under $50.  I'm happy with my choice.  They are super comfortable.  I also chose the more budget-friendly pair of jeans because I'm eyeing another pair for spring - either these One Teaspoon Freebirds Orchid Print Crop Jeans, or these 7 For All Mankind Josefina Embroidered Boyfriend Jeans.  I just can't decide which pair.  I'm leaning toward the One Teaspoon ones because they have more embroidery, although I do love how 7 For All Mankind's Josefina Boyfriend Jeans fit.

Anyway, back to these ZARA Embroidered Skinny Jeans.  Of course they would look great with a black or white sweater (or striped!), but I'm all about colour, especially in January, so I paired them with one of my favourite red sweaters to match the red flowers.  These jeans also have a touch of blue so I'll be pairing them next with this cobalt sweater, which is also another favourite of mine (this Free People sweater in navy would also look great).  These jeans also have a touch of green (LOVE this green balloon sleeve sweater from Pixie Market), orange (love this orange cold shoulder sweater also from Pixie Market - sadly my size was sold out when I went to buy it!) and yellow (this Free People La Brea V Neck Sweater in 'warm sun' is so pretty).  The options are endless!

Below are some of my other favourite embroidered denim pieces!

#OOTD / lavender

#lavender

Happy Friday!  Today's post isn't technically an #OOTD, but I would definitely pair this lavender Free People Allure Pullover Sweater either with these lavender (lilac, same same) Golden Goose Superstar Sneakers, or this lavender Foley + Corinna Violetta Cross Body Bag, or these Ray-Ban 53mm Retro Sunglasses, which I'm currently obsessing over.  Just add a pair of jeans.  I love pastels in winter and I especially love pairing a pastel with another pastel, either of the same pastel colour (see post here where I paired a pastel pink coat with a pastel pink sweater), or two different pastel colours (see post here where I paired a lavender cami with pastel pink pumps, or here pairing a pastel blue dress with a pastel pink blazer).  Typically, I would stick to two pastel pieces.  I used to looooove purple.  My entire room was painted purple and my sheets/comforter were purple as well growing up and then I became sick of it.  I'm slowly falling in love with purple all over again.  I'm also loving this Anthropologie Abella Turtleneck and this Free People Mercury Tee.

I love that quote, but in this case I'm looking back at my favourite outfits of winter, 2016.  The first picture is from my most popular post of 2016!  I'm not surprised because that Tularosa faux shag coat is SO gorgeous!  (I'm obsessed with this colourful coat and this beige jacket.  Tularosa makes some killer outerwear.)  It's supposed to get cold this weekend and I'm excited to pull out my shag coat.  We don't get much of a winter here in Myrtle Beach (which is 50% of the reason why we moved here from Canada) so these coats (and sweaters) will be on repeat.  I didn't invest in any more coats this winter because we get maybe a couple of weeks of winter weather (I learned that last year), but I did link some great ones above.  I was looking last night for a faux fur coat because I do love them, but I just ordered some bathing suits instead ha.  Something to motivate me during those January blahs when all you want to do is veg and pig out (well, that's not too far off from what I do most of the year)!  Although this January will go by so quickly since we're putting our house up for sale.  I'm excited for the big changes that are coming up in my life in 2017 (moving from Myrtle Beach to Greenville) and I'm excited to bring you along in my (fashion) journey!  Thanks for following along!!
