worn white bandits

Urban Outfitters Top (old, love this one, this white one is SO pretty!);
Schutz Erlina Sandal (also here in black);
Brixton Dalila Hat (in black, this colour sold out);

This is now my fourth pair of One Teaspoon bandits.  I am obsessed.  I have them in light blue (also here), pink, heart-printed and now these worn white ones.  The only ones I'm eyeing now are these (or these) black ones and I think my collection will be complete.  Although, these are 'worn white' so I could also use these bright white ones.  I went with the 'worn white' ones since I already have a pair of bright white shorts, but they're a tighter fit so I will probably invest in a pair of bandits.  Ok, maybe these dark blue ones too.  Is that too many?  But I L O V E them because they're SO comfy.  I will admit, I ordered another pair of these but the button fell off so I exchanged them and was worried the next pair wouldn't fit the same.  They don't.  But for the most part I love the way bandits fit.  They're short in the front, you can roll them up if you want them even shorter and the back covers your butt completely.  Obviously they're quite casual, which is why I love pairing them with pretty, flirty, flowy feminine tops.

black & white boho

 {Tularosa Huxley Top in Ivory Striped Tribal (also in a tank dress here and off-the-shoulder here);
Urban Outfitters Hat (similar);

My #OOTD post on Friday was also a black and white combo post, which I usually save for fall or winter since I'm more of a bright colours kind of gal in the summer, but I had ordered this Tularosa top and the combo was on my mind.  I am obsessed with the Tularosa Huxley top.  There have been different versions.  But this black & white (erm, ivory) one is my favourite.  I love the boho vibe.  Flowy so you can eat whatever the hell you want and not feel uncomfortable... although after the Italian feast I had with my sister at Ducatis Pizzeria & Trattoria (my new go-to for Italian food in Myrtle Beach), these shorts did need unbuttoning in the car.  But this top covered them.  So that's enough of a reason to buy it, if you ask me.  Oh, also because it's super pretty.  I love that you can wear the braided tie a few different ways too: tied (it came that way and I was rushing out the door), untied completely, or hanging loose and tied in a knot.

#OOTD / fall ready in black & white

#OOTD / fall ready

It's that time of year already: the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  It's not your typical sale because these are new items that will go back to regular price in a couple of weeks.  I usually take advantage of the sale to buy key essentials for fall: a jacket, jeans, booties.  This Topshop Leather Biker Jacket is my pick.  A must-have for fall.  You can dress it down with jeans or throw it over a pretty dress.  I've been eyeing this striped off the shoulder top at Nasty Gal this week, but now my size is gone (boo).  I love black and white for fall (really the only time I wear black) so I paired the striped tee with black skinny jeans which, to me, are a must-have for fall.  I am obsessing over these L'Agence Margot Skinny Jeans.  They have a high rise and are cropped, which are the two things I'm looking for.  Neiman Marcus is also having a killer sale on shoes.  These Maison Margiela Open-Toe Booties are over 50% off.  They're a great buy since they'll easily take you well into fall.

baby blues

ASOS Sandals (love these blue sandals, have them in black!);
Prada Sunglasses}

Ever since I read that article in InStyle about the colour blue, I've been drawn to it (see my recent post here).  This ASOS top is SO pretty.  I love the details.  I would normally pair a pretty pastel against white (or black) so that it would pop more, but I decided to go all blue and paired this pretty top with light blue cutoffs.  I also like the feminine details of the top against the shredded details of the cutoffs, making the outfit not too sweet.

Love the colour blue?  I've also been eyeing this Tularosa lace top - it says mint but I'm pretty sure it's baby blue, this Rebecca Minkoff top, this Club Monaco top - love the sleeves! - and this ZARA off-the-shoulder tunic.

#OOTD / blush & denim

#OOTD / blush & denim

Yay, weekend!  It's been a busy week, we had family visiting from Canada and they left yesterday so I'm a little late with my #OOTD post.  I sometimes have an idea when it comes to my #OOTD posts, based on what I've been coveting that week, but this week it came together quickly as soon as I came across these Derek Lam 10 Crosby slides.  Dying over the them, but sadly the smallest size (6), I think, will be too big on me.  Naturally I paired them with cutoffs since it's too hot to wear jeans, but I have been obsessing over 3x1's crop fringe jeans for a while now.  Again, I think they'll be too long on me, otherwise I would be all over them even though I wouldn't be able to wear them until probably October.  I stuck with the blush vibe and went with this pretty FindersKEEPERS blouse, although I think this Free People bodysuit would be my next choice to keep the focus on the slides (or the fringe detail of the jeans + slides).

skort, bra top & a denim vest

Talula Bra Top (similar here, love this one and this striped one);
Madewell Vest (similar here);
Zara Sandals;

It's been deathly hot here lately.  So I've been living in shorts and rompers because skirts and dresses are out of the question.  Except at night when it's a little more bearable.  But I just can't with the thighs rubbing together.  No #thighgap here.  I'd love to wear pants but it's just not an option in this heat, although I am eyeing these and these.  They look SO comfy.  Anyway, shorts it is.  I love this Privacy Please skort.  It's such a pretty colour and I love the tie detail.  Last time I wore this skort with the matching top (see here).  To change things up I paired it with a simple white bra top I bought at Aritzia a little while ago, which I live in because I can't put on a real bra either in this heat, and a denim vest, which in the end was too hot to wear.

perfectly victorian pt III

Rebecca Minkoff Mini Suki Cross Body Bag (in black, lilac on sale, this colour will be nice for fall);
Brixton Dalila Hat (in black);

My sister and I went out for dinner Saturday night.  I wore this beautiful Free People 'Perfectly Victorian Mini' dress (also seen on the blog here and here).  Free People came out with a black version and a blue version, which are just as beautiful, but I particularly love the ivory, which sold out quickly but is now back in stock!  I paired the dress this time with my favourite new pink booties.  These Jeffrey Campbell booties surprisingly go well with a lot of pieces in my wardrobe.  I guess that makes sense since I love florals and anything pink.  But it's time to say good-bye to this dress.  I've now worn it 3x, but not quite enough so I'm selling it on Poshmark!  (I'm also selling a bunch of other things from my wardrobe.)  This dress is meant to be a mini and being petite I was hoping that meant it was going to be a bit shorter on me.  But I kept it because it is SO beautiful.  So hopefully someone else will be able to give it the proper love it deserves.  Plus, I have my eye on another Free People dress.  Stay tuned!

#OOTD / dream shirt and mini skirt

#OOTD / dream shirt and mini skirt

Happy Friday!  I'm really loving these types of shirts right now - easy, breezy.  It's similar to this Spell Folk Town blouse I wore a few months ago (new style of that blouse here).  I'd be all over buying this top (and the new Spell one because I basically want to own everything Spell) but it's way too hot here, even in the evening.  Anything long sleeve is a no-go.  But I see fall styles already starting to trickle in (depressing, I know) and this is what I picture for when it starts cooling down a bit here.  I've been on the hunt for the perfect denim mini skirt, ideally in a light colour since I bought a darker denim skirt (but A-line) last season.  I'm just avoiding skirts right now because of the whole thighs sticking together in this heat thing.  I picture this outfit with these See by Chloe denim platform sandals, which I've been obsessing over.  I had pre-ordered them a while ago but they won't be available until end of August so I cancelled them because I am too impatient.  But they're now available here!

linen off the shoulder

Trying to get a cute picture with ice cream is nearly impossible.  Amazed no ice cream ended up on my clothes or sandals!

Talula Okinawa Short (other colours);
Schutz Erlina Sandal (also here in black);
Gorjana Alphabet Necklace (similar here);

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!  We ate hot dogs (well, I ate pasta) and then we decided to grab some ice cream.  We ended up going to the beach to our normal spot to watch the fireworks, but it was SO windy.  So, even though we wanted to avoid it, we ended up at Broadway at the Beach again to watch the fireworks.  The kids had a blast riding the rides and the fireworks were great, as usual, but the best part was we managed to get out of the parking lot in less than 10 minutes!  Unlike last year, which I think took us about 2 hours.  In the end, I'm glad we went.  It was deathly hot, but I felt cool enough in this Anthropologie linen off the shoulder tee.  I loved it as soon as I tried it on at Anthropologie (that's now my test whether or not to buy something).  I love it so much I might buy it in white (it comes in 3 colours!).  Of course since we were celebrating the 4th of July, I paired it with white shorts and my favourite red gladiator sandals.

#OOTD / red, white (& blue!)

#OOTD // red, white & blue

Happy Canada Day, my Canadian friends!  Today's #OOTD is inspired by Canada Day and, of course, Independence Day, now that I live in the U.S.  We'll be heading to the beach and watching fireworks for the 4th of July.  Don't have a 4th of July outfit?  There's no need to stress about buying something new.  You most likely have something in your closet that's red (if not, paint your nails red!), definitely something that's white and a pair of cutoffs, a denim skirt or jeans - if it's not too hot.  Done, done and done.  (4th of July outfit inspo here and here.)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
