cupid bandits

Schutz Erlina Sandal (also here in black);
Brixton Dalila Hat (in light grey, also in black here, this colour sold out);

Cutoffs + off-the-shoulder top + gladiator sandals = my summer uniform.  I'm a sucker for One Teaspoon bandits and for anything heart-printed so when I saw these heart-printed bandits, I fell in love.

#OOTD / safari chic

#OOTD / safari chic

Happy Friday!  Today's #OOTD is inspired by Farfetch's 'Fashion Blogger's Content Pack' and their editorial (below) on one of the biggest summer trends: safari chic.  I started shopping at Farfetch a couple of years ago when a friend told me you can shop boutiques from around the world (I bought my Valentino Rockstud ballet flats a couple years ago from a boutique in London - how cool is that?).  I also love that they carry vintage pieces, like the Dior skirt above, which fits perfectly with the safari trend.  I combined the safari trend with my favourite trend: off-the-shoulder.  Mixing two trends can be tricky, but this Rag & Bone off the shoulder top is lightweight enough to fit with the easy-breezy vibe.  Add a panama hat, aviators, a backpack and 'safari to swimming pool' espadrilles and you're ready for a safari.  Or Animal Kingdom at Disney.

You can shop the pieces by clicking on the items below!

I love that Farfetch created the Fashion Blogger's Content Pack to help and inspire bloggers by interviewing fashion bloggers and discussing the biggest trends.  You can read Farfetch's 'guide to into the wild style' here and shop the items featured.

frayed & laced

Lack of Color The Spencer Boater Hat;
Prada Sunglasses}

Back in March, I paired this J.O.A. off the shoulder denim top with white skinny jeans (see post here).  This time I went with the opposite: black shorts.  Also, it is deathly hot here.  I almost wish I paired it with a black skirt.  Next time!  I half-tucked in the top this time since the top is almost as long as the shorts.  A great trick unless you like people thinking you're not wearing pants ha.  Then I added the usual suspects - my Lack of Color Hat, Vanessa Mooney bolo necklace and my now go-to ASOS sandals, which are super comfortable.

off shoulder gingham

The shot, above, was taken before we headed out for my birthday, but we ran out of time and only had a few pictures so we reshot the look.

 {MLM LABEL Maison Off Shoulder Top (this colour sold out, also love this pink gingham dress);
Tularosa Shorts (similar here);
Rebecca Minkoff Mini Suki Cross Body Bag (this colour sold out, also here in lilac);

Last week I wrote about my favourite top ever.  This gingham top easily takes second place.  Unfortunately this colour is already sold out!  But I linked the black/white version and the dress version in pink, which is adorable.  I was looking for a special piece for my birthday and this top is definitely special.  I love the oversized fit (we went to a pirate show and had a 4 course meal and I was able to pig out and not worry about being uncomfortable).  I'm obsessing over off-the-shoulder tops but this one sold me because I have a slight obsession with gingham, the ruffled overlay is so pretty and of course the colour is gorgeous.  This gingham top is fun and easy breezy which is what I look for to wear in this heat.  I wanted to pair this top with my kick flare jeans, but since it was too hot I paired it with my favourite Tularosa shorts which are equally as comfortable.  (They're also the only shorts where the top didn't fully cover them.)  I'm obsessed with these booties and wear them any chance I get, but I also love that they're matchy-matchy but not too matchy.

Update: I found this colour on MLM's site (see here)! (Last time I checked they didn't have it.)

#OOTD / palm print & stripes

#OOTD / palm print

Happy Friday!  This week has flown by.  I've been so exhausted this week since our company left after visiting for 4 days.  It also doesn't help that I've been binge-watching Mr. Robot until 2 am.  If you haven't seen it yet, you should really check it out.  It's Breaking Bad good and season 2 starts next month!  Rami Malek is ah-mazing.  I'm going to get my sister hooked since she arrives on Sunday and is staying with us for 6 weeks!  We'll be spending a lot of time at the beach.  So my outfit is inspired by that (I picture this outfit in the evening at the beach, followed by dinner), but it's also inspired by a few palm print outfits I've seen lately - have you seen this one from Atlantic-Pacific?  Incredible!  I've been inspired to pull out my palm print skirt I bought years ago.  I also have a palm print crop top similar to this one that I'll be styling on the blog soon.  I love the idea of mixing prints and pairing any bold print with stripes is the safest bet.  I wanted to add a pop of colour so I did it with sunglasses and kept the shoes neutral since they'd be competing with the pants.  But it's (almost) summer so now's the time to have fun with colours.  These Dolce & Gabbana palm print pants are amazing, but there are more affordable versions here and here

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

for love of lace & denim cutoffs

{For Love & Lemons Isabella Top (also here and here in dark grey, dress version here, red long sleeve dress version here, maxi dress version here);
One Teaspoon Wilde Bandits (also here, love these, bought these heart print ones);
Schutz Erlina Sandal (also here in black);

If I had to pick a top in my closet, I think it's safe to say this For Love & Lemons top is my favourite.  Now there are many tops in my closet that come pretty close to being my favourite, but this top is SO unique and beautiful.  The lace detail, the bell sleeves, the fact that you can tie a little bow at the top (I prefer to leave it open), the floral embroidery, the colours... Even though pink is my favourite colour, red is a close second (although there are touches of pink in this top).  I also love that you can wear this top several different ways.  I last paired it with a denim skirt here.  You can keep it dressy with a skirt or dress pants, or wear it casually with a pair of jeans or even distressed cutoffs, which is probably my favourite pairing.  I love how delicate the top and sandals are, but then these One Teaspoon cutoffs give the outfit an edge.

Tomorrow's my birthday.  I mentioned last week that I was going to post a preview of my birthday outfit on Instagram Sunday night, but with what happened in Orlando early in the morning, I couldn't bring myself to post anything.  It's heartbreaking.  My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims.

#OOTD / the maxi dress of all maxi dresses

Happy Friday!  Ok, today's #OOTD isn't so much an outfit, but I mean, this dress...all you need is this dress.  I have no words.  This is a dress that screams BUY ME, but unfortunately it comes in XS/S (and M/L) sizing and because I'm so petite, those usually end up being too big for me.  So bummed.  This is the ultimate boho maxi dress.  Super breezy and a dress you can live in all summer.  The colours are SO gorgeous.  Shopbop paired the dress with these sandals, which are gorgeous and go with the easy breezy vibe of the dress, but I picture a pair of gladiator sandals (love these, these and these).  That is, if you're not frolicking on the beach barefoot.

Happy shopping!

rainy day blues / 70s style

   {L'Academie The Billowy Blouse (also love this long-sleeved version);
Free People Flared Jeans (love these);
3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Mini Satchel (other colours, love this mint one);
Brixton Alex Hat (also love this fedora!);
J.Crew Bracelet (old);

It's been raining on and off lately and it's been a tiny bit cooler so I took advantage and threw on my favourite flared jeans since that's what I pictured when I bought this L'Academie blouse from Revolve.  I've always been drawn to 70s fashion and the billowy sleeves on this blouse give it that 70s feel.  Since navy goes so well with mint, I added my 3.1 Phillip Lim bag for some contrast.  (Unfortunately it's already sold out but I linked a similar Loeffler Randall bag that's almost half the price.)  I fell in love with the print on this top, but it also comes in a pretty red and also white, which I might scoop up myself!

colourful romper

 All of the pretty colours.  Love the tie closure!

     {Show Me Your Mumu Nantucket Romper;
Coach Bracelet (old);
Rebecca Minkoff Mini Suki Cross Body Bag (colour sold out, avail in pale blush, lilac);
Prada Sunglasses}

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  It was a hot one yesterday.  Almost too hot to wear anything other than a bikini.  Summer to me is all about colour.  I fell in love with this romper because it's SO colourful and since I love colour so much I paired it with a pink bag, bracelet and nails!  I also paired it with my new favourite hat.  It was sold out on Revolve but now available for pre-order!  It's a great beach hat because of the size.  This choker necklace has been on repeat too.  I've now styled it a third way (see here and here for other ways I've worn it).  This time I triple-wrapped it around my neck and tied it into a bow.  It was sold out too, but it's also now available for pre-order on Revolve!

#OOTD / lemonade

lemonade

Happy Fri-yay!  Well, lemonade is a little popular lately, but I've always loved my brights so when I saw this yellow top at J.Crew I fell in love instantly.  It being an off-the-shoulder top is a bonus.  For those a little scared of brights, you can always go with a nude sandal.  But I like to pair brights with brights so I paired this yellow top with these adorable pom-pom sandals, which is also a huge trend.  I kept the bag more neutral and added a choker, since that is my go-to necklace this season.  This outfit can take you to the beach (just kick off the sandals before trying to walk in the sand) to brunch.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  And remember to turn those lemons into lemonade ha.  Also, because it's pretty hot out there.
