#OOTD / work it

#OOTD: work work work work

Happy Friday!  Most of my outfits are pretty casual now that I'm a stay-at-home mom so today's outfit is a little different.  I came across these pants and I would be all over them if I was still working.  If it has a bow on it, I'm sold!  I still might purchase them because you can dress them down with a tee and flats.  (They come in white too!)  I used to live in heels when I started working over 10 years ago, but since having kids I've grown to love flats and these ZARA ones are only $40!  (I also love these, these and to splurge on these.)  And you can never go wrong with a classic white button-up and black tote.

You can shop the pieces below.  Happy shopping!

oversized sweater

    {Wildfox Couture Valley Sweater (now on sale! also here, last seen here);
hat: Urban Outfitters (sold out online, similar here);
ring: Free People; sneakers: Vans; sunglasses: Prada}

Last winter I was still working in an office and wearing, well, work-appropriate clothes.  This winter I've been living in oversized sweaters now that I'm a stay-at-home mom living in the South.  I'm pretty sure I've said it before that Wildfox Couture makes the best sweaters.  Although I can't complain about the weather here in the South, I'm excited it's starting to warm up (April flowers bring spring showers in February? I'll take it!) and I can start shopping for flowy dresses and floral tops.  But I won't be putting this sweater away because it will be perfect for those cool summer nights by a fire or on the beach.

overalls, a white tee & a cardigan

 {overalls: Madewell (sold out online, similar here and love these);
tee: GAP (similar); necklace: Guess (old);
hat: Brixton; sunglasses: Prada}

I was hesitant about the overall trend because I'm petite (I've done the short version many times, but have not worn long ones in years), but these Madewell ones fit great and are super comfortable.  I'm now even thinking about getting their spring ones (tagged above) and I love the idea of pairing them with a white button-up.  I wanted to pair these with a striped chunky knit sweater, but it was really warm this weekend so I paired them with a simple white tee.  Adding a boyfriend cardigan is perfect for when there's a bit of a breeze.

Hope everyone has a great week!

#OOTD / spring essentials

#OOTD: spring essentials

Happy Friday!  Today's #OOTD features spring essentials: a denim jacket (I'm loving the oversized fit), a striped tee, light wash jeans, white sneakers and a saddle bag.  A touch of floral adds a pop.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

the denim skirt

 {Tularosa Lucy A-Frame Skirt (also love this, this and this one);
sweater: Free People (old, similar);

I'm obsessing over denim skirts for spring so I was so happy I scored this Tularosa one on sale.  Although it's been incredibly warm this week, it was a bit breezier today so I paired it with a sleeveless but cozy Free People sweater and OTK boots.  I'm excited spring is just around the corner and I'll be pairing this skirt with pretty blouses and platform sandals.

#OOTD / floral & lace

spring

Happy Friday!  Today's #OOTD is inspired by this beautiful For Love & Lemons crop top (also here and here - it's selling out fast, but it also comes in a blouse, a mini dress and a maxi dress!)  It has everything you need for a spring top: florals, lace and cut out shoulders (a huge trend).  I just scored a dark denim skirt on sale, but I love this one because of the light colour, which is also perfect for spring.  I'm obsessed with the jean version of this skirt (people have mixed feelings about the kick flare trend, but I love it), but because this top is cropped I went with the skirt so you can wear it higher on your waist.  I love a clog sandal and red accessories add the perfect touch.

Happy shopping!

blue & bundled

sweater: Central Park West (old, love this one and splurge here and here);
shoes: MICHAEL Michael Kors;
hat: Urban Outfitters (sold out online, similar here); sunglasses: Prada}

Brr.  It's been chilly the past couple of weeks and this past weekend was cold and wet so I didn't get to shoot any new looks.  I shot this look about a month ago and since then we've been in t-shirt and shorts!  Okay, maybe it was one random day.  Either way I was happy I was able to finally wear it since December was so warm, which is when I bought it.  I was drawn to this scarf because I love cobalt and the fact that it's plaid, but it's also SO soft.  I knew immediately I wanted to pair it with this sweater I bought a couple of years ago (last seen here).  I went with white jeans and black accessories to tie in the rest of the colours from the scarf.  A red coat would be a perfect topper.

Don't forget to come back and check out my #OOTD on Friday!

#OOTD

cozy cool

Happy Friday!  This week's #OOTD features a sweater or 'jumper' I've had my eye on, but I couldn't decide which colour I love more so I styled them both.  This burgundy colour is so beautiful (also love this and this sweater).  Since it's cropped and has full sleeves, I went with a pair of straight high-waisted jeans rather than a flare.  They're a bit slouchy, which is perfect for the weekend.  I was going to go with sneakers for a more casual look, but I've been eyeing these amazing Valentino booties (budget-friendly pair here and love these).  Plus they would give a petite girl like me some height so I'm not overwhelmed by the voluminous sweater.  And since Valentine's Day is coming up, I went with some heart-shaped pieces and my go-to Prada sunglasses.

neutral

For the cream version, which is the version I originally fell in love with, I paired it with another pair of high-waisted jeans, but in white because I love wearing bright neutrals for the winter.  The boots are a budget-friendlier version of the Valentino ones (they also come in black).  I went with this beautiful Loeffler Randall bag to keep the look clean and added some delicate Gorjana rings, which is my go-to brand for delicate jewellery.
